Wow…how on earth is it Wednesday already?!
I was really upset this morning when I realised I haven’t blogged for 4 whole days :(!
The last few days have been a little busy thanks to my looming exams and an essay I had to hand in on Monday night.
A few of my eats this week…
A boiled egg and toast…on Friday I was in so much pain with my back I didn’t feel like eating at all and ended up just having a few small snacks like this throughout the day.
Quite a few of these egg muffins!! They’re just so good!!…I didn’t intend on having any of these but when James asked me to make him some for his breakfast I just couldn’t resist once I started ‘cooking’! I’ve got a great (ok maybe a little weird 😉 combo going on where I cover half of one side of my muffin with marmite and the other with Jam, as inspired by Julie and sort of like a ‘savoury’ meal and ‘dessert’!)
Overnight protein oats – I soaked 1/4 cup medium oatmeal overnight, in the morning added 1 scoop pea protein with some more milk to loosen, a dash of vanilla, sprinkle of cinnamon, spoon of greek yogurt, peanut butter and berry compote (quite a combination now I think about it!)
I worked yesterday at Starbucks and didn’t get home until 8.30, I’m always super hungry after all the cleaning I have to do, so needed something really quick and easy…I opted for some fish which I seasoned with chipotle tobasco and had with steamed broccoli, slightly toasted brussel sprouts and added some avocado…not my favourite meal but did what I needed it to at the time 😉
I spent the day resting my back on Friday and thankfully it was feeling much better by the end of the weekend. In true ‘me’ style I decided to get back to the gym and do a Bodypump class on Monday morning. I took it easy with the weights and didn’t do some of the exercises which made me uncomfortable, I was doing well! and didn’t have too much discomfort for the rest of the day, so…I’ve been intrigued by Insanity workouts and yesterday, decided I was ‘ok now’ and had a go. Now anyone who has tried these workouts will know they’re pretty intense (as I do now!) so basically…with the combination of my workout followed by all the cleaning, sweeping, lifting and mopping I did at work last night I’m in real pain again :(….my own fault completely but I’m thinking maybe a visit to the chiropractor may be necessary.
I think I need to take it easy!…with my exams coming up next week, it’s probably a good time to have a rest and focus on my studies 🙂
